Negotiation skills training and certification: personas, scenarios and a dual verdict

Teachrity's negotiation module offers seven counterpart personas and eight scenarios, scored on a dual verdict: how good the deal was and what was left of the relationship. A certification ladder shows a learner's progress from basic to advanced negotiations.

Seven personas

Counterparts range from cooperative to aggressive and evasive. A learner who only practises against a friendly counterpart is unprepared for a hard one.

Eight scenarios

Scenarios cover price, terms, scope and timelines, in sales and non-sales settings, so the same skills are practised across contexts.

Dual verdict

One score is the deal result. The other is the relationship and the behaviours used. A win that burns the counterpart scores lower than a fair deal that keeps them.

Certification ladder

Learners move up levels as they succeed against harder personas, giving managers and faculty a clear progression.

Preparing before you negotiate

Learners set a target, a limit and an alternative before each scenario. Preparation is scored, because most failed negotiations are lost before they begin.

Sample exchange

A conditional trade

AI counterpartI cannot move on price.

LearnerIf you hold the price, can you extend payment to sixty days?

AI counterpartThat would cost me.

LearnerThen if we commit to a larger volume, would sixty days work?
