Audio Mirror: hear your own filler words, pace and pauses

Audio Mirror is Teachrity's speech-feedback layer. After a voice attempt it shows pacing, filler words, pauses and clarity so the learner hears habits that silent reading never exposes. It is built for practice feedback, not for scoring accent or identity.

Video: Feeling unknown in your own voice?

What it shows

A replay of the attempt with a filler-word tally, speaking pace across the answer, long pauses and markers where the argument lost structure. In one demonstration clip it caught 17 filler words in a short answer.

Why it works

Most people believe they sound calmer than they do. Hearing a specific habit, such as opening every answer with the same phrase, gives a concrete behaviour to change on the next attempt.

Where it is used

Placement and viva rehearsal, microteaching, sales objection practice and inside Claude or ChatGPT through the Teachrity MCP, where a professional can rehearse a negotiation before a meeting.

What it is not

Audio Mirror is formative. It does not score regional accent, pitch or identity, and it is not a basis for hiring or grading decisions on its own.

LearnerWe cut cost first because it protected the margin while we tested demand.

Frequently asked questions

Does Audio Mirror judge accents?+

No. It reports pacing, filler words, pauses and structure for practice. Accent and speech-rate differences should not lower a learner's rubric score.

Is the audio stored?+

Voice audio and transcripts are treated as personal data. Retention and access are agreed with the institution or employer, as described on the privacy and oversight page.

Can I try it without a university account?+

Individual plans and the Teachrity MCP let a single learner practise and hear Audio Mirror feedback. See pricing for current plans.
