LMS integration
AI role play and oral assessment inside Canvas with LTI 1.3
Canvas supports LTI 1.3 external tools, and Teachrity is built to that standard. An instructor adds a simulation to a Canvas module or assignment, students launch it from the course, and results are available to the instructor alongside the rest of the course work.
Where it sits in Canvas
A simulation can be placed in a module as a practice activity or attached to an assignment so a scored session counts toward the course.
Setup in outline
A Canvas administrator creates an LTI developer key with Teachrity's registration details and adds the tool to the account or course. The LTI 1.3 values, such as client ID and deployment ID, are exchanged during setup.
Instructor workflow
Instructors choose the scenario, set the rubric focus and review attempts. Oral assessment tasks, such as a viva or case defence, can be set up the same way.
Confirm for your instance
Canvas versions and institutional settings differ, so the first launch is tested with your administrator before rollout.
Placing practice in modules
A common pattern is a module with a lesson, a reading and then a simulation, so the student applies the idea straight away. Instructors can then release the next module only after a scored attempt.
