Practice labs for non-STEM education: law, management, hospitality and teaching

Lawyers, hoteliers, bankers, teachers and sales people hold high-stakes conversations every day, yet curricula rarely teach them. Teachrity treats these as a practice problem: a lab where non-STEM students rehearse the conversation, get scored, and repeat until it becomes habit.

The gap

Students graduate knowing the subject and having never practised the conversation the job is made of. Each finds their own way, mostly on the job, at the cost of clients, guests and pupils.

Practice infrastructure

Pilots practise on simulators, surgeons on models, engineers in labs. Non-STEM disciplines had no equivalent. A voice lab with graded scenarios is that equivalent.

Not generic role play

Each programme has its own scenarios, criteria and benchmarks, built at curriculum level with subject experts. A legal client interview and a hotel complaint are scored on entirely different things.

What institutions get

Evidence of each student's performance, usable for internal assessment and accreditation, without extra faculty effort.

Why now

As AI automates routine analysis, the conversations around the work become the human part of it. Programmes that never practised them send graduates into roles where those conversations are the job.

Sample exchange

A banker explains a loan decision

AI customerWhy was my loan application rejected?

TraineeI understand the disappointment. Based on your repayment history, the current credit score is below our threshold.

AI customerWhat can I do?

TraineeClear the two overdue payments and reapply in three months, and I can note a review date.

Frequently asked questions

Why non-STEM?+

STEM programmes already have labs. Non-STEM programmes have lacked a repeatable practice environment.

Is this only about communication skills?+

No. Each lab tests the subject judgement inside the conversation, such as legal accuracy or pedagogy.

Which verticals are available?+

Management and commerce, law, hospitality, teacher education and related programmes.

Is it only for India?+

The approach is not specific to India. It is customised to each university's curriculum, including in the Gulf and Southeast Asia.
