Day-1 Business Practice Lab: first-day-at-work tasks for students

The Business Practice Lab puts management students into realistic 20-minute first-day-at-work tasks: updating CRM pipelines, entering a sales order, writing a follow-up client email and answering a manager's questions out loud. It covers more than 100 job-role challenges for BBA, MBA and B.Com programmes.

Why a Day-1 lab

Graduates know theory but stall on the first week: which field to update, how to word a follow-up, what to say when a manager asks for status. The lab turns those moments into rehearsed habits.

What a task includes

A short brief, a simulated workspace, a typed deliverable and a voice interaction with a manager or client. The rubric checks both the work product and how the learner explains it.

Employability evidence

Programme teams get a record of what each learner has practised, which supports employability reporting and employer conversations.

Within the LMS

The lab can be launched from the course through LTI, so it sits beside other course activities and returns moderated scores.
